Cancer drug discovery lacks effective screening methods, which are needed to develop viable anti-tumor compounds. Most in vitro and in vivo screening assays do not guarantee that a compound will work in human trials. Of the thousands of compounds discovered almost none make it into the final phases of development. Even if some do make it, their efficacy is low and toxicity high. In the field of cancer drug therapeutics, researchers and healthcare professionals speak in terms of a month or two extra in survival instead of cures or real responses. There is no "gold standard" of treatment in the field of cancer therapeutics and most cancer therapies are palliative.

Our goal at Saficor is to change this reality with a fresh look at the cancer drug discovery method. We are introducing new paradigms in understanding the dynamics of cancer cell survival and tumor architecture to help us in discovering new anti-tumor compounds.
